Essential oils ABC, part 2
The use of room fragrances is a growing trend and diffusers are bubbling in more and more homes. In this second part, we discuss more specific ways of using essential oils.
Essential oils in a diffuser
A diffuser is the simplest way to use essential oils. Add 3–5 drops of oil with water to the diffuser and enjoy the scent. Mixing different oils creates unique scent compositions.
Popular blends
Relaxing blend: 3 drops lavender + 2 drops chamomile + 1 drop cedarwood
Energising blend: 3 drops peppermint + 2 drops eucalyptus + 1 drop lemon
Focus: 2 drops rosemary + 2 drops lemon + 1 drop peppermint
Safety
Use essential oils sensibly. Don’t leave the diffuser running all night – 30–60 minutes at a time is sufficient. Ensure the room is ventilated. Use oils carefully around children and pets.
