What protects cells from oxidative stress?

According to the health claims authorised in the European Union, vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, zinc, riboflavin (B2), copper and manganese contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. For example, Q10 + vitamin C contains 250 mg of vitamin C, which contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, to the normal function of the immune system and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. You'll also find vitamin C and selenium on their own.

Q10, astaxanthin, lycopene and NACQ10 with virgin olive oil is ubiquinone in virgin olive oil. Astaxanthin 8 mg comes from the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis and is what gives salmon and prawns their reddish colour. Lycopene is the red pigment in tomatoes. NAC is a form of the amino acid cysteine. No health claims have been authorised in the EU for these substances themselves – each product page states the exact amount and how to use it.

Food comes first

Colourful vegetables, berries, nuts, seeds and fish naturally provide many of these nutrients. A food supplement complements a varied diet – it does not replace it.
